Sri Lankan fusion · Milano
Where Sri Lanka
takes Milan
with taste
Island cooking with real fire behind it, platters built for the middle of the table, and a room that turns into a night out somewhere around the second round.
01 — The experience
Not a meal. A whole evening.
Rawana is the only place in Milan where authentic Sri Lankan fusion transitions flawlessly into a premium nightlife experience. Dinner starts with chilli, curry leaf and coconut. Somewhere between the platters and the last drink the lights drop, the music comes up, and the room turns.
Everything is built to be shared — wide plates in the middle of the table, hands reaching across, generous portions, plenty of noise. Come for the food you haven't tried yet. Stay for the part of the night nobody planned.
- 01 Island cooking, fusion technique Curries built on coconut milk, ginger and spice. Kottu chopped to order on the flat top. Street-food heart, restaurant finish.
- 02 Plates made for the middle of the table Our signature sharing specialities land as a centrepiece. Order two or three, pass everything around, argue about the best one.
- 03 Live music, DJs, late nights The same room that served you dinner becomes the reason you stay. Live sets, entertainment, and a crowd worth being in.
02 — The signatures
Four plates that explain us.
First time here? Start with these. They are the dishes we are known for, and the ones the kitchen is proudest of.
-
01
Rawana Mix Fried
The one everyone photographs. Chicken, pork, wurstel, prawns, cuttlefish, fish, crab and potatoes, all tossed together in our special house sauce.
-
02
Seetha Seafood Fried
A special omelette, beautifully prepared and packed with fresh seafood. Softer, richer, and the quiet favourite of anyone who orders it twice.
-
03
Hanuma's Spicy
Prawns and cuttlefish with peanuts, onions, exotic spices and a special sauce. This is the one to order when you want the heat — and we will build it to your level.
-
04
Kottu Chopsuey Sea Food
Homemade flatbread chopped on the flat top and tossed with crunchy stir-fried vegetables and seafood in soy, garlic, ginger and pepper. Sri Lankan street food, done properly.
-
05
And the rest of the menu
Curries in coconut milk, ginger and spice — chicken, pork, beef, fish, mutton. Kottu and noodles. Chicken Biriani and Nasi Goreng. Devilled dishes. Beef Cutlets, Fish Rolls, Gamberi Kataifi and Gyoza to start. Watalappan to finish.
Sharing specialities
Order for the table, not for yourself.
Our signature sharing specialities run from €18 to €70, so a table of two and a table of eight can both eat the way this food is meant to be eaten — everything down the middle, everyone reaching. Average spend lands around €20 to €35 a head.

A true Sri Lankan restaurant. Delicious, carefully prepared dishes. Perhaps a little slow, but that's consistent with the quality of the freshly made food. I'll be back ❤️

04 — Before you book
The things everybody asks us.
And if it isn't here, just call. Someone who actually works in the room will pick up.
A Sri Lankan restaurant in Milan with a full Asian menu running alongside it. The kitchen cooks the island's classics — kottu chopped to order on the flat top, curries built on coconut milk, ginger and spice, devilled dishes, fried rice and noodles — plus Chicken Biriani, Nasi Goreng and a line of sharing specialities built around the Rawana Mix Fried. There is a proper bar in the same room: signature cocktails, classics, wine, beer and a zero-proof list.
Via Giuseppe Cesare Abba 7, 20158 Milano, in Dergano — about ten minutes north of the centre. The nearest metro is Dergano on the M3 yellow line, roughly a nine-minute walk. Maciachini, also on M3, is about twelve minutes away.
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 to 15:30 and again from 17:00 to 23:00. Friday from 12:30 to 23:00, straight through. Saturday from 12:30 to 15:00 and from 18:00 to 23:00. Sunday from 12:00 to 23:00, straight through. Closed all day Tuesday.
Not always, but it helps — weekends fill early and the big tables go first. You can book on this site in about a minute, or call 324 796 5832 and speak to someone who actually works in the room.
Sri Lankan cooking is famous for its heat, but ours is balanced rather than brutal — the flavours are bold and authentic, and built to be enjoyable for a Milanese palate. If you want it genuinely hot, ask for Hanuma's Spicy and tell us how far to go. If you'd rather stay gentle, say so when you order and we'll point you at the milder end of the menu.
The Rawana Mix Fried platter. It's the fullest introduction to what this kitchen does — chicken, pork, prawns, cuttlefish, fish, crab and potatoes in our house sauce — and it lands in the middle of the table so everyone tries everything. Add Kottu Chopsuey Sea Food alongside it and you've covered both sides of the menu.
Yes — Vegetable Kottu, Vegetable Noodles and Vegetable Fried Rice are all on the menu. One thing worth knowing before you order: the kottu and the fried rice are both built on a base cooked with egg, so if you avoid egg or you're eating vegan, the vegetable noodles are the straightforward choice and the kitchen can adjust the others. Tell us when you book and we'll talk it through properly.
On the menu page, under every dish. It carries the full list of the fourteen substances named in Annex II of EU Regulation 1169/2011, together with the notice that our kitchen handles gluten, milk, tree nuts, mustard, egg and crustaceans every day — so cross-contamination can't be ruled out even in a dish whose recipe contains none of them. If you have a serious allergy, tell us when you book so the kitchen knows before you arrive.
Individual dishes run from about €7 to €19 — kottu, fried rice, noodles, devilled dishes and curries all sit in that band. The big sharing specialities run from €17 to €70 depending on the size of the plate. Cocktails are €7 to €10, wine by the glass starts at €5, beer starts at €3. Most guests spend somewhere between €20 and €35 a head. Every price is on the menu page.
Yes — this is a room built for it. The food is designed to land in the middle of the table, so a group eats the way the menu intends rather than everyone guarding their own plate. Graduations, birthdays and company dinners happen here regularly. Call 324 796 5832 with your date and your numbers and we'll work it out with you.
Yes. The same room that served you dinner is the reason people stay — live sets, DJs and late nights. What's on changes week to week, so call us or check our Instagram before you come if you're planning the evening around it.
A full bar, in the same room. Signature cocktails at €9, classics from €7, spritz, and a zero-proof list for anyone who isn't drinking. Wine by the glass from €5 and by the bottle from €30, beer on tap and in bottle from €3, and proper coffee. You're welcome to come just for the drinks.
