Rawana works well for groups for a simple reason: the food is designed to be shared. Sri Lankan and Asian cooking arrives on wide plates down the middle of the table, and a table of twelve eats the same way a table of two does, only louder.
We are at Via Giuseppe Cesare Abba 7 in Dergano, nine minutes on foot from Dergano M3. This page covers how a group booking works. The specifics — dates, numbers, how much of the room, what the evening should cost — are worked out on the phone, because they always are.
What we host
Birthdays, graduations, family celebrations, team dinners and company evenings, and the occasional party that started as a booking for eight.
We do not publish fixed packages. Tell us the date, roughly how many people, and what kind of evening you have in mind, and we will build it with you — that produces a better evening than picking Menu A off a page, and usually a cheaper one.

How the food works for a group
Order down the middle. The sharing specialities run from €18 to €70 and are made to land as a centrepiece; the batter dishes at €17 to €35 do the same job at a smaller scale. Around them go kottu, curries, wok-fired noodles and rice, and devilled plates, all between €7 and €19 a dish.
For a large table the usual shape is two or three sharing plates, a spread of kottu and curries, and rice and noodles across the middle. Most guests spend €20 to €35 a head. For a set number of courses at a fixed price per head, call and we will put one together for your date.
Drinks
There is a full bar in the room. Signature cocktails at €9, classics from €7 to €10, spritz from €7, and a zero-proof list at €7 to €9 for the people who are driving or simply not drinking.
Wine from €5 a glass and €30 a bottle, sparkling up to €45. Beer €3 to €6. If you want a welcome drink on arrival for the whole group, say so when you book and it will be poured and waiting.
Allergies, vegetarians and the people who eat around things
Tell us in advance and it stops being a problem. There are vegetable versions of the kottu, the noodles and the fried rice; the noodles are the one whose base carries no egg, which makes them the reliable vegan option.
Allergen information covering all fourteen categories in Annex II of EU Regulation 1169/2011 is published dish by dish on the menu page, with a plain note about what the kitchen handles daily. For a group we would rather have the list a few days out than at the door.
Music, and how the evening ends
The room runs live sets and DJs, which is why a lot of group bookings here stop being dinner around the second round. If that is what you want from the night, say so when you book — and ask what is on, because the programme changes.
If you want the opposite, say that too. A quiet Wednesday lunch and a full Friday night are the same room in two completely different moods.
